How To Use The Driving Range To Play Golf Better

We are going to go over a key practice tip I think will help you play golf better everyday. Your golf play begins at the driving range. Yes, as they say, practice does make perfect, but it must be the right king of practice. To play golf better, you must practice correctly at the driving range, therefore you must be practicing the right things. If you go to the range and practice using the wrong grip or bend your left arm(assuming you are a righty), you will not play golf any better, ever. I recommend getting at least 3 lessons so you have the correct form down. You can then get a refresher every 2 or 3 months to make sure you aren't going back to old habits. If every time you go to the driving range you are practicing with the correct form, grip, etc. you will get a little better every time. Although what I just said might seem like common sense, I guarantee you thousands of people go to the range everyday and practice horrible golf, I see it all the time. Your time is valuable and if you make the driving range as productive as possible, you will play golf better!
The next easy and fun tip for the driving range is to actually pretend you are golfing. The next time you play golf, save your scorecard. Take it with you to the driving range next time and pick a number of holes out, depending on how much time you have, and play those holes. You will have pictures and layouts of each hole including yardage. Every single swing you take out there you should be visualizing the hole you are on, the sand traps, the water, the trees, everything. Play the holes you have chosen, keep score, penalize yourself, even take a mulligan here and there. This is actually a lot of fun. You feel as if you are almost out there sometimes. It’s also almost like cheating a little. The next time you go to that course with your buddy, you will play better than the last time and have somewhat of an advantage. Trust me, not only will you enjoy the driving range better but this WILL help you to play golf better, especially the next time you are on that course.
If you follow these two helpful hints, I am sure you will start playing golf better in no time. Remember, practice makes perfect, but perfect practice is a must!
